I Want To Be A Police Officer When I Grow UP

When you are young, you think you have your whole life mapped out. Many want to be a doctor. Some people want to be a fire fighter. Others want to be  police officers. Many people think you just go to the police station and apply. Well, there is a thing called the police officer exam and the police recruitment that make things a bit harder.

When people think of police recruitment, they often times think of becoming a soldier. You have this view of people set up at odd and end corners with big signs telling you of the benefits. While some of them do this at job fairs and sometimes in high school or colleges, you really have to want to become a police officer to go through the training.

The process of police recruitment is no joke. Many have found when they look at the list of things they have to go through in order to be considered for the squad, they rethink the idea. Many will tell you the road to becoming a police officer is hard, but it is so worth it.

Many of the police academies have an age limit. Normally, they will hire people to start the recruitment process if they are between the ages of twenty-one and forty-five. There are a number of reasons they do this. For starters, twenty-one allows them to handle issues that arise in bars. By this age, many are also graduated from college if they go right after high school.

The police recruitment is a process with a number of steps you must accomplish. This includes the tests you have to take and the great old police academy that you must attend. It is with these steps they mold and shape you to be the police officers the community needs.

Once you pass the tests that are a part of the police recruitment, you are well on your way to entering police academy. You know you are pretty much there once you have passed the academy. From there, you search for which police department you want to work for and there are some exams to make sure you possess both a sound mind and proper physical form to perform the duties of a police officer.

Now, that you have an idea of what to expect, don’t let this scare you. You may have a lot to do before you to make it to being a police officer, but the end result is well worth it. Police recruitment is what protects the next generation as new officers come in as the old retire.
