Police academy requirements as well as study guides to pass the curriculum exams

If you want to become a police officer in the state of Ohio, you must successfully pass the police training academy. If you are thinking about sponsoring yourself to the police academy, here are some qualifications and requirements needed before you can enroll.

It would also be a good idea to buy a police academy study guide weeks in advance before your academy class begins. If by any chance you are already at the academy but struggling to retain the vast amount of information thrown your way, I’d recommend downloading a police academy review guide as well.

Here are some of the requirements you must meet in order to successfully enroll into the Ohio police training academy:

You must have a high school diploma or GED

Applicants must be at least 20 years old when applying, and at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.

Must be in possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license

A citizen of the United States.

Good moral character, and reputation

have a satisfactory employment history

Demonstrated good judgment. A background investigation will be conducted of all candidates prior to appointment, including a polygraph examination covering honesty/falsification, family history, employment, military history, traffic, gambling, criminal activity, substance abuse, and credit history.
